Notice for Request for Proposal

Victory Youth Centers, Inc. is a 501(c) (3) non-profit organization, organized under the auspices of the Archdiocese of Washington DC, to build and manage multi-use recreational facilities in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. It is anticipated that each project will be joint effort between both public and private funds.

The mission of the Victory Youth Centers Inc. is to satisfy the desperate need for quality multipurpose recreation centers and meeting spaces in which to hold youth activities during non-school hours. Victory Youth Centers has been established to host athletic, social and other events for the children and young adults in our community. The anticipated activities would include:

• Basketball leagues, tournaments, and camps
• Indoor soccer leagues, tournaments, and camps
• Indoor tennis leagues, tournaments, and camps
• Wrestling camps and competitions
• Cheerleading practice and competitions
• Recreational centers during summer and after school hours
• Meeting space for Boys and Girls Scout units
• Theater, Choral, and Musical productions
• Seminars on youth-oriented topics
• Plays sponsored by local organizations
• Speech and debate competitions
• Musical and theatrical activities
• Your own youth oriented ideas

The Mary Virginia Merrick Center facility includes the following;

• Regulation high school basketball courts with hardwood floors that can double as a volleyball court and can be partitioned into two separate "middle school sized" courts to optimize youth league competitions.
• A stage with adjacent storage areas
• 3 Meeting rooms
• 1 computer lab
• Warming pantry to support concession sales at various youth events
• Ample bathroom facilities
• Bleacher seating for as many as 250 people, as well as folding chairs for an additional 250 persons

We are now accepting all proposals for rental space. The hours of operations will be Monday through Friday, 9am - 8pm. Saturday through Sunday hours will be 8am - 6pm. Our estimated opening date will be June 8th, 2007.

Rates for Prime Season:
$50.00 per Hour
November 15th - March 15th

Rates for Off-Season:
$40.00 per Hour
March 15th through November 14th

Rates for meeting rooms
$25 per Hour
Year round rate.

Discounted Packages

• Groups that rent the Victory Youth Center more than 200 hours or more in one year will receive a 10% discounted on the hourly rate.
• Groups that rent the Victory Youth Center more than 300 hours or more in one year will receive a 15% discounted on the hourly rate.
• Groups that rent the Victory Youth Center more than 400 hours or more in one year will receive a 20% discounted on the hourly rate.
